Post Drivers | Series 2i Rigid

Series 2i Rigid | Optimised for Australian farm fencing

The Kinghitter Series 2i Rigid is the fixed-mast model in the Kinghitter Series 2i post-rammer range. Purpose-built for Australian farm fencing, it’s proven in some of the toughest ground conditions around. Using our tried-and-trusted post-driver principles, the Series 2i Rigid hydraulic post banger combines Kinghitter’s legendary strength and reliability with the latest hydraulic efficiency and operator-safety systems. This machine is the go-to choice for farmers and contractors who need a dependable, easy-to-use post rammer for general fencing work.

At the heart of the machine is a heavy-duty 4.0 m 150UC rigid mast, manufactured from 350-grade Australian steel. This ultra-strong column absorbs vibration and shock loads, protecting the hammer, pulleys, pins, and hydraulic components so the machine keeps operating smoothly, and requires minimal maintenance, even after years of use. The 4.0 m mast gives you the ability to drive a 3.1 m post, making it a perfect match for Australian farm fencing requirements.

Series 2i Rigid | Standard Specifications

The Series 2i Rigid post driver comes standard with a 4.0-metre 150UC rigid mast, giving you the ability to ram posts up to 3.1 metres. The 250 kg hammer (550 lb) delivers serious hitting power, while the 25° side tilt and 25° hydraulic toplink provide excellent flexibility when working across uneven terrain.

Hydraulics are controlled through a high-flow SD11 Italian valve bank, to provide smooth operation. Every aspect of the Series 2i Rigid has been engineered to keep you productive—whether you’re fencing on flats, rolling hill country, or challenging ground conditions.

Kinghitter Series 2i 450 Post Driver Features

Postcap Post Steering | Feature Highlight

Get an easier, safer post installation system with Kinghitter post drivers. Our unique post cap system provides precise post steering control, allowing you to position and drive posts with minimal manual effort — and no more podgy bars.

  • Steer posts securely with the post cap.
  • Adapt to timber, steel, and concrete posts with interchangeable caps.
  • Reduce operator fatigue and boost efficiency.

You’ll also see the impact zone guard for safer post driving and the bolt-on shroud system for different post shapes.

As the post is driven into the ground, the top gets lower and the impact zone moves. Kinghitter’s guard mounts to the Safety Postcap and travels with the strike zone, protecting the operator over the hammer’s full stroke.

Hydraulic Angle Tilts | Feature Highlight

Struggling with post driving on uneven terrain? The Kinghitter range is built to handle it — making every fence line faster, straighter, and safer.

In this video, we take a closer look at the features that set Kinghitter post drivers apart when working on challenging ground conditions:

  •  25° of Tilt Adjustment — Achieve perfectly vertical posts on hillsides and slopes with generous forward/back and side-to-side tilt.
  • Hydraulic Control System — Smooth, responsive control of your side and top-link tilt makes setup simple and efficient.
  • Proven Kinghitter Reliability — Built tough in New Zealand with a reputation for reliability and performance earned over decades in the field.

If you’re ready to improve your fencing game, this video shows why more farmers and fencing contractors choose Kinghitter.

Why The Cable System? | Feature Highlight

The Series 2i rigid post driver uses Kinghitter’s proven rope & pulley lift system, delivering a true 6:1 lift ratio—every 100 mm of ram stroke lifts the hammer 600 mm. This system creates a faster post rammer hammer cycle, a longer free-fall stroke, and powerful driving force for tall, hard-set posts. The lift ram on the post banger is fully isolated from shock and vibration, reducing heat, minimising seal wear, and extending long-term reliability.

Kinghitter’s next-generation hydraulic lift ram and cable system also improves overall machine efficiency. The double-acting hydraulic lift ram design reduces oil temperature and lowers strain on your tractor pump, keeping your hydraulic system running cooler and more efficiently. Cable life is maximised through high-grade wire rope, modern pulley geometry, and reduced cable whip.

Drive Posts To Ground Level | Feature Highlight

In this video, we break down the Kinghitter post driver's ability to drive posts right down to ground level. This makes them ideal for stay posts and tie-backs, and allows you to ram a post deeper into the ground for increased stability. It also means you don’t have to cut off excess post material, reducing waste and saving money on every job.

We also hear from a fencing contractor who shares why this is one of his favourite features of his Kinghitter machine, especially when working in demanding ground conditions where accuracy and efficiency matter.

Interchangeable Hydraulics | Feature Highlight

The Series 2i rigid post driver uses Kinghitter’s ‘interchangeable’ hydraulics system. This optimises performance by recycling hydraulic oil internally during the hammer drop, instead of sending it back to the tractor via a high-flow dump line. Benefits of this system include:

  • No High-flow Dump/Case Drain required- Two ½” quick couplers allow quick & easy fitment to any Tractor, Skid steer etc.
  • Operates at Optimum Hydraulic efficiency:
  • Requires less Hydraulic Oil.
  • Reduces Heat Build Up
  • Removes restriction – friction that a hydraulic ram usually creates during the hammer drop is removed, allowing faster fall

After selecting your Series 2i Rigid Post Hitter package, you can improve its performance with a range of upgrade options. Choose capability upgrades like the Auto-Latch Auger Kit or improve your post driver movement with a Mastshift base. Each upgrade helps optimise your post driver for your fencing environment and requirements.

    Auto Latch Auger Kit

The Auto-Latch Auger Kit is a powerful and user-friendly system featuring a hydraulic ram for downforce and auger extraction, along with an automatic latching mechanism for stability. Its 250cc hydraulic motor ensures fast and reliable operation, making it ideal for tough ground conditions like blue clay, hard pan, and sandstone. It's compatible with a range of anticlockwise augers and Dig/Rock Pilots for enhanced performance.

    Mastshift

Mastshift is a mount option that shifts the mast 300mm side to side in the rear mount position. This movement becomes forward and backward when paired with the terminator side mount base, giving the mast 4-way shift.

Why Kinghitter | Trusted for Over 45 Years

Every Series 2i rigid post driver is manufactured and assembled in Palmerston North, New Zealand, using premium components such as Italian valve banks and NZ-made hydraulic rams. Each unit is fully sandblasted, primed, and finished in a tough 2-pac coating to maximise paint life and long-term durability.

Every machine is backed by a 24-month peace-of-mind warranty and supported by a nationwide network of trusted dealers. Buying through your local Kinghitter dealer means more than just great service. It includes on-farm delivery, machine setup, trade-in and finance options, and the reassurance that help is close by whenever you need it. Dealers understand your local ground conditions and can guide you to the best setup for your region.

Buying direct from an importer of cheaper machinery or small manufacturer may look attractive (especially on price), but once the sale is made, will they still be there when you need support? Are they committed to keeping you working, or simply closing the deal? Before purchasing direct, consider the value of proper setup, operator and safety training, after-sales service, and reliable local backup.
